Health Basics: A day in the life of the oblivious consumer

Tuesday, March 26, 2013 by: S. D. Wells

(NaturalNews) This is the story of a working couple, she who eats organic and researches natural remedies, and he who thinks his food and product "regimen" is
harmless . She is leaving on a short trip, so she tells him to keep a journal of everything he eats, drinks, and puts on his skin for the next 24 hours. The next morning she leaves at the break of dawn, and he wakes up and starts his day off as usual, with all the "typical and conventional" products and foods.

His journal: "Day one"
I woke up at 7 a.m. Brushed my teeth with Crest fluoride and whitening toothpaste, took a shower, washed and conditioned my hair, and then washed my face with Ivory soap, and put on my Brut deodorant/antiperspirant. Then I took my men's One A Day multivitamin with a tall glass of orange juice, and I fried up two eggs, the conventional ones you tell me not to eat, and I put them on some whole wheat toast, two pieces, with butter. Oh yeah, I fried the eggs with a little margarine, like a teaspoon-full. I drank most of my cup of coffee with a pack of
Splenda and some half and half, maybe a tablespoon worth of that.

At work, I drank my whey protein shake I made with the powder you say contains that Aspartame I'm not supposed to eat, and the 'regular' milk you say is so bad for me too. I ate about a third of a can of Pringles Light and drank about 16 ounces of Crystal Light. I also chewed some gum throughout the day, it was Orbit the sugarless stuff.

I got home around 6 p.m. and had two of those little pre-prepped burgers that I pan fried for dinner, and I put them on a white bread bun, and I microwaved some fries, those salty, curly ones that are already cooked and bagged. I used ketchup, a lot of it. Oh yeah, I drank some
Diet Coke, about a can and a half. That's pretty much it. I did have a migraine headache from about 2 to 4 p.m., but I took two extra strength aspirin/migraine tablets and it went away.

She returns:
She returns from the trip and reads the journal thoroughly. Each day is very similar to the others, where he used all the same soaps, shampoos, conditioner and other body
products , and ate basically the same food, trading out only the burger for conventional chicken. Everything else he CONSUMED was toxic in some way, shape or form. At least half the food was GMO and more than 90 percent of his skin "applications" were toxic to the human body. She informs him that his cleansing organs are being overloaded every day. His immunity is compromised and that is why he has felt, in his own words "lethargic." She informs him that his skin is his largest organ, and that it absorbs everything he's putting on it. Then she breaks everything down straightforward and gives him good sources.

Her review of his toxic regimen
The toothpaste contains fluoride, the silent killer, among other toxic additives.

The soap is damaging skin every day by locking in body toxins and coating the epidermis with more. Here are some soaps that don't cause skin cancer: (http://www.thedailygreen.com)

Your skin is your largest organ, and many shampoos and conditioners contain toxins that enter through your scalp and cause infections and disorders.

Conventional antiperspirants clog pores, contain aluminum, and can cause Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Here are two links to read:

Conventional orange juice contains pesticide, insecticide and possibly herbicide, like "RoundUp." You don't want to drink bug killer and weed killer, do you?

Good vs. "Bad" eggs; many conventional eggs contain hormones and antibiotics from chickens that are unkempt and suffering; there are organic eggs that are chemical free.

Dead and useless multivitamins with toxic "other ingredients" are on all the grocery store and drugstore shelves. You've been duped. Stop taking them immediately.

Margarine is deadly and is one molecule away from being plastic; it coagulates in your veins and arteries and blocks blood flow from the heart to the body and the brain.

Splenda Essentials
is still filled with the same toxic chlorocarbon sucralose as the regular
Splenda, which is linked to severe health problems.

Crystal Light and Orbit gum are both chock full of chemicals.

Conventional creamers contain rBST and rBGH (milk) hormones given to cows to make them produce much more milk than they naturally could. This causes udder infections and pus in the milk, and so then they are given antibiotics. These "milking" hormones have been linked to several kinds of cancer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8Wv6SkT5h8)

The conventional prepared beef and chicken both contain toxins like MSG, hormones and antibiotics that cause major diseases, including prostate and bladder cancer. The white bread buns contain GMO gluten and bleach, to name a few food ingredient criminals:

Migraine medications can be dangerous and cover up symptoms of bigger health problems.

Final journal entry:
"She came back from her trip and showed me how wrong I was about everything! I could not believe she found stuff toxic about everything I used and ate. I thought I knew food. I thought I knew good meat and eggs, all that healthy stuff. I was so far off. Even my antiperspirant is toxic. Who knew? Well, I guess she does. It's time for me to do some homework, so I can keep these toxins out of my body, my blood, my heart and my brain. All I can say is it's a good thing she tunes into health related topics or I may have never changed my toxic regimen to organic and chemical-free. From now on, I promise to not eat "cancer" or put toxins on my skin."
