Acupuncture
Safe and virtually painless, acupuncture can help with many chronic illnesses and pain. The National Institute of Health as well as the World Health Organization recommend acupuncture for many modern ailments with just a few listed below. This is a consolidated list that we have had good success in treating in our clinic.

HeartMath
Ancient wisdom found in ancient cultures and texts like the Yellow Emperor's Classic, the Bible & Christianity, Celtic writings, Native American Indian culture, Hinduism, Buddhism, and the list goes on reflecting the importance of the heart and the understanding that "out of the heart flows spirit of living water". Traditional Chinese Medicine classifies the heart as the "emperor" in the hierarchy of organs, the most vital, instrumental and protected of all the "kingdom" which is our body.
The HeartMath Institute has been scientifically researching (since 1991) not only the functions of the heart, but also the energetics and emotions that affect the heart, and in turn, the rest of the body, mind, and spirit. They've found thru multiple case studies that when the heart is in "coherence", or in harmony, with the rest of the body, optimal health can be achieved mentally, emotionally, and physically. "This shift in heart rhythms creates a favorable cascade of neural, hormonal and biochemical events that benefit the entire body." The video link below gives a wonderfully detailed explanation of what HeartMath is all about and can do for you. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdneZ4fIIHE At Tallahassee Chinese Medicine and Community Acupuncture, we've incorporated HeartMath Interventions as a stand-alone treatment or add-on to your private acupuncture treatment plan. We teach you the techniques, and you then have the tools to self-manage your acute or chronic stress when needed, and therefore reduce the effect of stress on your life and health. |
Therapeutic Massage
What's the first thing you do when you bump your elbow? You rub it, and try to help it feel better, right? Rubbing it stimulates blood and healing energy flow to the area, allowing endorphins, your bodies pain killers, to soothe the area of pain. Massage therapy is instinctual, it's a foundation therapy that's been used as long as we've been bumping our elbows. A great therapeutic massage feels so good. Imagine it being coordinated with your acupuncture treatment plan! Whether you are having acute or chronic pain, tense and tight muscles, or just need to manage some stress, having massage either in conjunction with acupuncture treatment or as a stand alone treatment can be a wonderfully necessary piece in your wellness plan.
